Camping Trailer Build Process

Camping Trailer Build - Phase 1
  • Install Fantastic Ceiling Fan
  • Install LED overhead light
  • Install Insulation in roof
  • Build and install bed on driver side wall
  • Build nose shelf to driver side up-right board
  • Install (DC/USB) receptacles
  • Build folding shelf on passenger side wall

    Camping Trailer Build - Phase 2
  • Install Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volts Monocrystalline Solar Starter Kit on roof
  • Install solar controller
  • Install battery box inside trailer (with Renogy lithium iron phosphate Battery)
  • Create short MC4 cable. Run from battery to tongue for solar panels (use MC4 connectors and 12g cable)
  • Rebuild side door: door was originally made of 1"x3" wood boards and was very flimsily and left visible gaps. Was rebuilt using 1" square steel tubing with support for window. Now very sturdy and secure.
  • Install window in side door
  • Install insulation in walls
  • Install axle flip kit
  • Custom build spare tire mount on ramp door: ramp was reinforced with 1" square steel tubing to support spare tire.
  • Install  a battery isolator
  • Install LED light under upper nose shelf
  • Install Porch light
  • Build and install upper shelf from nose to ramp door
  • Install T-style Entry Door Catch Holder
  • Install inside 110 wall outlets
  • Install outside 110 outlet

    Camping Trailer Build - Phase 3
  • Install ceiling fan frame
  • Build nose counter support
  • Paint again with matte white and/or color
  • Install inside ramp door locks
  • Install carpet
  • Install paper towel holder
  • Purchase new ice cooler (Lifeline from Walmart)
  • Install Fire Extinguisher
  • Install Magnetic Screen for side door
  • Create system for securing bed in up position

    Camping Trailer Build - Phase 4
  • Install dividers / shelves on nose counter
  • Build nose counter "under" support structure  
  • Add something to connect bed legs together
  • Purchase foam rubber / memory foam for bed
  • Select fabric for bed
  • Have bed foam covered and window curtains made
  • Create fabric panels for nose counter
  • Install fresh water sink
  • Install hooks to hang outside mat on side door

    Camping Trailer Build - Phase 5
  • Install cleanable surface on nose counter with edge trim
  • Install permanent connectors for fabric panels (snaps?)
  • Cover nose roof section or paint
  • Insulate and cover underside of trailer
