An Example of How God Works

I had been searching for well over a year for what I thought would be the best used truck for me.

I knew just what I wanted, a 03-06 Silverado 2500HD extended cab short bed 4x4. Truck prices across the board were running high. Trucks meeting this description were hard to find and usually had high miles on them. I would often think of other types of vehicles, but always came back to this one.

One day I stopped to talk to a friend at the non-denominational church I attend. As conversations usually go, he asked how I was doing, my automatic response was to say, "I'm okay." I then stopped myself and said, "no, actually things are not going well". I went on to say, "I've been looking for some time for a good used truck. And now the SUV I'm driving is having some serious mechanical problems, and I don't know if I should fix it or go ahead and put that money into a newer truck." My friend asked if he could pray for me, I said "yes."

The next day, Monday, I was looking online and found a truck that looked like what I was looking for. But it was priced pretty high. It was with the online auto site Driveway, which offers no haggle pricing. So, the price is what it is.

For the next three days I kept thinking about it, going online, looking at it, and thinking about it some more. Is it a good deal? Is it worth the money they're asking? Finally, I decided I would go for it. So, the next morning I went back online and guess what? The listing had gone from showing a "price" to stating, "Sale Pending". I was so mad at myself for not trusting and acting on it sooner.

I talked to my sister about it. She said I should call the online dealer. I thought to myself, no I'm too late. It's my fault, I should have moved on it. So, I just pouted for a few hours until I was convicted that maybe God was speaking to me through my sister. So, I called Driveway and explained the situation.

The lady on the phone was very nice, she looked up the ad and said that someone had put it in their cart but had not acted on it. And that if I wanted to act on it now, she would remove it from their cart and start the sales process for me. I said "yes", and we started the process. After about two hours I gave a deposit and arranged a date to pick up my new (to me) truck.
