Auxbeam Switch Panel
One thing I want to do when I venture far off-road deep into the dark of night is to… LIGHT IT UP! I want to be able see clearly the trail ahead of me and to the sides. Searching for troublesome areas, obstacles, rocks that could cause damage. I don't want any surprises. I want to enjoy a night drive without getting stuck, causing damage to my truck, or worse.

My vision for auxiliary lighting for Gold Rush includes four pod lights in the front winch bumper (future build) two spot and two flood, two amber pod lights mounted on the hood facing straight ahead, two white pod lights on the hood angled off to the sides, two 6inch wide white lights attached under the rear bumper, and rock lights lighting up the ground all around Gold Rush. And, until I install a slide-in pop-up camper, I want a pair of amber dust lights mounted on the bed mounted storage box facing the rear.
To make it easier to install and operate all these lights, I purchased an Auxbeam AR 800 RGB switch panel. This kit came with a circuit control box, an eight-switch control panel, and all the necessary wiring. Installing the circuit control box in the engine compartment, running wire through the firewall, and installing the switch panel in my dash was a pretty simple task.
I could now easily install new lights (or some other electrical accessory) by simply inserting their wires into the circuit control box. And I can turn those lights on or off by pressing the corresponding button on the switch panel.
My first set of lights installed was a pair of X-Pro 3-inch LED Pod Lights, also from Auxbeam, on each side of the hood near the A pillar. They light up the night pretty well by themselves but wait until I install the other lights I have plans for in the future.
All I had left to do was to affix an appropriate sticker to the switch panel for those lights. I then installed the associated app on my android phone from which I could control the lights if I chose. Future lights will be installed in the same fashion.
There you are, install some off-road driving lights and enjoy a night drive.
