Acumen Mirror Dash Cam

After watching videos of crashes caught on dash cam, I saw the value in having one myself. So, I set out researching. There are so many on the market these days it is hard to know which one to choose. I originally bought and installed a Garmin Mini 2 because I just wanted to go with a name I knew and trusted. This I did over two years ago when I first purchased the truck. However, the Mini 2 is very limited in functionally.

Now that I have been having some work done on Gold Rush at Las Vegas Overlanding Co, I have come to trust James. So, I asked what he would recommend. He has had success with the Acumen line of dash cameras. So that is the brand I went with.

The Acumen dash cams are available with the Acumen Box, a system where you can connect accessories such lights and control them through the touch screen mirror. I already have an Auxbeam Switch panel installed in Gold Rush, so I choose The Legend, model L2, Digital Rearview Mirror Dash Cam from with 3 Cameras

The Legend L2 Mirror Dash Cam records everything through its three cameras.
One camera is in the windshield mounted mirror, one is mounted in the front grill, and another is mounted near the rear license plate.

With its 3-camera setup, the front, rear, and interior perspectives, The Acumen Legend Mirror Dash Cam records everything. This broad coverage ensures that your vehicle is watched from multiple angles, providing increased safety and records in the event of an accident.

The Legend L2 produces clear and detailed high-quality video footage and images. This is beneficial for taking pictures of license plates, traffic signs, and other details in both bright and dim light.

In addition to continuously recording while you drive, The Legend L2 Mirror Dash Cam also features an event recording feature that is activated by impacts or abrupt movements. This ensures that significant moments are automatically recorded and are not missed. This includes recordings from all three cameras.

The mirror screen provides current time, direction, and speed. It also presents lines when the truck in in reverse to guide me as I back up. The one thing I am disappointed with is that in bright daylight there is so much glare that the images can be difficult to see. But this is obviously not Acumen's fault. And that's okay because my main reason for installing the cameras is to capture video of actions effecting my truck. I am confident The Legend Mirror Dash Cam will do the job.
